2016 Adaptive Sports Camp Coming This Dec. 2017H2>
TNABA is excited to offer our 2nd Annual Adaptive Sports Camp this December (Dates TBO). This year’s camp will primarily teach the fundamentals of the premier
team sport for those living with vision loss, Goalball, however we will also feature a few other sports and recreational activities. Camp VIVA is founded
on the same simple principles as the TNABA’s mission, which is to provide the opportunity for inclusive activities for the entire family/community, no
matter their ability and skill levels. What makes Camp VIVA so unique is the empowering learning peer on peer mentoring environment. That’s right, camp
attendees will interact and learn from a wide range of successful adult and youth TNABA athletes, that already choose not to let blindness keep them from living life to its fullest, teaching much more than rules, techniques, and strategies on the court, rather life lessons off the playing field as well!
VIVA means “to live”, and that is exactly what we want to instill throughout this camp, far impacting lives past the camps duration. Check back often, as we will be announceing soon dates and further details!Click HERE to find out more!
TNABA Can Come to You to Share the Joys of Adaptive Sports
TNABA has developed a unique & one of a kind outreach and consulting program for physical education teachers, coaches, parents, and others in the community. This combined with our sports programs allows us to reach our mission by educating those in our community while ensuring that blind individuals are able to participate in athletic activities alongside their sighted peers. A team of TNABA athletes and staff can come out to your school, church, or business to demonstrate an adaptive sport, an athlete can come speak at your luncheon or sports banquet to deliver a powerful motivational speech, TNABA staff can provide tips and resources to help you adapt any activity to create a more inclusive environment, or let us inspire your staff at your next team building training.
